About Wendy Howdin

Wendy is a fully qualified practitioner and a member of the British Acupuncture Council, the Register of Chinese Herbal Medicine and an Associate Practitioner of the Women’s Natural Health Practice and www.tcmdermatology.org. She lives and works in Newcastle upon Tyne.

Background and qualifications

Wendy’s interest in Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM) developed during her three-year training in Shiatsu. She graduated from the Shiatsu College in 1996. She went on to complete a four-year MSc in Traditional Chinese Medicine (Acupuncture and Herbs) at the Academy of Chinese Culture and Health Studies, California, USA in 2003.

Whilst studying for her MSc, Wendy also undertook an additional internship with Isaac Cohen, internationally known for his TCM treatment and research work in relation to Breast Cancer.

Wendy is committed to her ongoing development as a practitioner. She has undertaken numerous short courses and two substantial Diplomas to support her major areas of interests in Gynaecology/Fertility and Dermatology.

In 2015 Wendy completed a post graduate Diploma in Chinese Medicine Dermatology with Marzin Al-Khafaji of Avicenna, a world-leading expert in Chinese Medicine specialising in Dermatology and is an Associate Practitoner of  www.tcmdermatology.org.

Having completed a post graduate Diploma in TCM Gynaecology and Obstetrics with Trevor Wings in 2016, Wendy became an Associate Practitioner of the Women’s Natural Health Practice.

Previously, Wendy worked as a Social Worker, specialising in Substance Dependency Problems for many years.

She has studied with Marzin Al-Khafaji, Trevor Wings, Jane Lyttleton, Debra Betts, Sarah Budd, Jani White, Giovanni Maciocia, Charlie Buck, Isaac Cohen, Paul Lundberg, Clifford Andrews and Virgina Doran. She enjoys Qi Gong and has studied with Bisong Guo.

Wendy offers treatments to support most conditions. She has a particular interest in fertility issues, gynaecology, menopause, pain and dermatology.
